The selected candidate will perform comprehensive technical analysis of groundwater resources. They will undertake planning, management and implementation of large scale projects, some involving multiple SRP departments or outside entities. Occasionally, they will work with municipal or regulatory personnel to solve mutual water resources problems.

What It Takes To Succeed

Perform detailed analysis of groundwater characterization utilizing industry standard analytical software. Budget and development and tracking for projects.  Coordination of tasks with other SRP departments and outside entities if projects are multi-compositional in nature. Proficient and effective use of writing and presentation tools. Working knowledge of new technology related to hydrogeology, use of geophysical methods and automatic water level monitoring equipment.

  • Knowledge of SRP water facilities and operations.
  • Familiarization with water group policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal water regulatory agency rules and regulations.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Skilled in solving complex problems.
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal relations.
  • Professional organization active participation is desirable and encouraged.
  • Technical presentation at local level professional society meetings is desirable.
  • Knowledge of geostatistical techniques, PC based software databases and query tools, hydrogeologic analysis programs.
  • Knowledge of groundwater data collection quality assurance and control techniques and ability to analyze process errors.
  • Knowledge of all phases of well technology, including drilling, construction, aquifer testing, modification, rehabilitation, maintenance, and abandonment.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
